Here's a BYU Newsnet story on the ongoing NEH seminar sponsored this summer by the disappearing Smith Institute for LDS History. The article notes the names of several of the visiting scholars, but unfortunately gives very little detail on the specific research interests that brought each of them to the seminar. Instead, the article takes a human interest angle, discussing how some of the visitors miss "a cup of coffee to keep them up after long hours of study in the library" or their reaction to the Honor Code Office's modesty rally held outside the BYU Bookstore recently. But the scholars are unflinchingly complimentary: Everyone has been "extraordinarily hospitable and cordial," says one, and BYU is "a very beautiful part of the country," says another. Let's hope they are all enjoying the seminar and will put out a few interesting articles as a result of their summer studies (under the direction of Grant Underwood and Richard L. Bushman).
