From the article:

"With the number of people moving on and off the property, some local residents fear a takeover of the county government. Because of the small population in the community, some fear that an influx of FLDS members could create a voting block and help their candidates win election."

See, if that's what they were worried about, they coulda just stayed in Utah. Daggett County (upper righthand corner, just above Uinta County) has a population of all of 900 people.

"Because of the small population in the community, some fear that an influx of FLDS members could create a voting block and help their candidates win election."

Hmmm.... where have I heard something similar before ...? ;)

Dave, the first link to photos of the FLDS temple is a link to the Church's temple site. I didn't know if you were aware of that or not.

Thanks, John. I was patching in a few LDS temple links in connection with Kaimi's linking project, and must have missed my anchor (the text supporting the link).

Dave, sorry to resurrect an old post, but yours appeared to be the most recent in the bloggeracle regarding the subject.

There's a new story regarding the apparent completion of the FLDS temple. I posted about it on my site under the title:

"Now We are the Outsiders"

Let me know what you think.
