The Deseret News, not a periodical noted for its sense of irony, ran a story about a Provo company that has digitized the US Census, entitled Five Billion Names, but with no mention of Arthur C. Clarke's classic sci-fi short story, The Nine Billion Names of God. Provo ... Tibet ... works for me. Only four billion to go.
That assumes that we all make it to the highest degree of the celestial kingdom, no?

This is an imagination-provoking juxtaposition. Add a little bit of that old Mormon teaching "man is God in embryo," and maybe you have your "Names of God."
